Wijnaldum continues to be one of Barcelona’s main transfer targets for next season. According to ‘ESPN’, PSG intend to get between the player and club having made a tempting offer for the Dutchman. As a result, the Catalan side have been forced to go all in.
Wijnaldum is yet another player that will soon be a gift for potential buyers as, from 1st July, he will become a free agent. His signing will come free of charge (not accounting for his wage demands), meaning that several clubs are currently doing their best to convince him to sign for them.
Barcelona have made his name one of their transfer priorities and have spent weeks negotiating, however ‘ESPN’ have reported that PSG have now joined the race for his signature. The French side have supposedly offered Wijnaldum a far superior offer to their Spanish counterparts thanks to their much more comfortable economic situation.
As soon as Barca were made aware of PSG’s intentions, ‘Marca’ informed that the club then stepped up their negotiations to try and convince the Liverpool player to complete his move.
Of course one of the most important aspects of the deal will of course be Ronald Koeman. His continuity at the helm of the side could tip the balance in favour of Barcelona, as Wijnaldum would have his countryman as manager who would certainly assure him of an important role in the coming seasons.
In any case, the player will arrive in order to rejuvinate the middle of the park and bring a breath of fresh air to the side, as he proved to be such a vital player for the Reds ever since his arrival at Anfield.
At the Camp Nou they have set the deadline for the deal as the start of the European Championships, meaning they have less than ten days to complete Wijnaldum’s signing – or concede that he will move to another club instead.
