A busy summer is expected at Old Trafford. Manchester United have set aside millions to make a splash in the transfer market, following their disappointing defeat in the Europa League final, with the names keep on coming in.
Manchester United’s American owners, the Glazers, want to have a hand in a considerable rebuild next season, as they look to reinforce the club with some of Europe’s hottest talents.
‘Foot Mercato’ higlights that United will be provided one of the largest budgets in European football this summer, with various options being rumoured to the club in the last few weeks.
In the Premier League market, there are two names that the directive are persuing – Harry Kane and Declan Rice, the present and future of the English national team. They are two signings that would represent a stamp of authority from United in the domestic competition.
In addition, rumours continue to circulate regarding Jadon Sancho, one of United’s most sought-after players in recent times. The Red Devils will need to part ways with the largest sum of money in their history for a player if they are to pry him away from Borussia Dortmund.
United also have their interests in La Liga, as the Spanish league contains four of the club’s transfer targets – Oblak, Varane, Pau Torres and Trippier. The first name could arrive for 80 million euros, although Atletico won’t make the deal easy for the English club – far from it.
Pau Torres and Trippier are in their sights, although slightly further back on the list. The Villarreal centre-back is a gamble for the future, and the Red Devils have been after the player for a long time. Whatever happens, United are paving the way for a busy summer in the transfer market.
