Georginio Wijnaldum could become a new PSG player in the next few days, after his agent, Humphrey Nijman, was seen in the French capital to complete the deal.
The Parisians overtook Barcelona in the race for his signature, after the Catalan side appeared to have the deal practically in the bag. PSG offered Wijnaldum double what Barca did, meaning the player opted for France instead of Spain as his next destination.
It was ‘Mundo Deportivo’ who reported that Nijman was in Paris this Sunday afternoon to complete the signing of Wijnaldum, who will arrive to the Ligue 1 runners up on a free transfer.
Barcelona now regard the Dutchman’s signing as impossible, as he played his last match for his country before the European Championships this summer.
Not even Ronald Koeman’s presence in the Barca dugout was enough to convince patriot Wijnaldum to join, as he ended up going for the team who offered the highest salary.
Wijnaldum will sign a three-year contract at Paris Saint-Germain, once he completes his contract with Liverpool on 30th June.
